DQ381 fault codes P1735 and P1736 are associated with clutch-position sensing or plausibility. The vehicle may enter emergency mode, lose selected gears or display a transmission warning.
Start With External Testing
Before condemning the mechatronic unit, the diagnosis should verify battery voltage, relevant fuses, power and earth circuits, connector condition, wiring continuity and CAN communication. Testing should be performed under realistic load where appropriate, because a circuit can appear correct with no load and fail during operation.
Review Live Position Data
Clutch-position values should be assessed for plausibility, movement, dropouts and agreement with commanded operation. Freeze-frame data, fault frequency, temperatures and the circumstances in which the code sets can help separate an intermittent wiring issue from an internal sensor fault.
When The Sensor Is Internal
If external circuits, communication and supply voltage test correctly, and the live data confirms an implausible or failed internal position signal, mechatronic repair or replacement may be required. Coding, basic settings and adaptations are part of the repair process.
