A DSG service is preventative maintenance. It should use the correct fluid, filter, seals, filling equipment and level-setting procedure for the exact gearbox fitted to the vehicle.
What A DSG Service May Include
- Vehicle and gearbox identification
- Pre-service scan and fault-memory review
- Specified DSG fluid and applicable filter replacement
- Seal and drain/fill plug replacement where required
- Controlled filling and temperature-based level setting
- Post-service checks, adaptations or basic settings where applicable
- Road test and leak inspection
Service Intervals Vary
Wet-clutch and dry-clutch DSG units do not all share one universal interval or fluid specification. The vehicle build data and current manufacturer information should be checked before a service is quoted.
Service Does Not Guarantee A Fault Repair
Fresh fluid and a filter cannot repair worn clutches, failed mechatronics, hydraulic pressure loss, damaged wiring or internal gearbox wear.
