Renault EDC refers to several Efficient Dual Clutch transmissions fitted across different Renault models. Depending on the application, the gearbox may use a dry or wet clutch arrangement and different control hardware.
Common Renault EDC Symptoms
- Judder or hesitation when moving away
- Delayed engagement or failure to select a gear
- Gearbox warning, emergency mode or restricted gears
- Clutch, actuator, selector or control-unit faults
- Overheating, oil leakage or abnormal noise
What Diagnosis Includes
Assessment may include full fault scanning, battery and charging tests, actuator and clutch data, wiring and connector checks, adaptation values, temperature behaviour, fluid condition and road testing where safe.
Service Is Gearbox-Specific
Not every EDC uses the same fluid, filter or service procedure. The VIN and transmission identification are required before maintenance or repair parts are quoted.
