DQ400e Hybrid DSG Explained

How the DQ400e combines a dual-clutch gearbox, electric motor and hybrid clutch—and why high-voltage diagnosis is different.

The DQ400e hybrid dual-clutch transmission integrates an electric drive motor and hybrid separation clutch with a six-speed dual-clutch gearbox. A no-drive or warning complaint may therefore involve the transmission, hybrid controls or high-voltage system.

More Than A Conventional DSG

Diagnosis can involve hydraulic pressure, the mechatronic, clutch values, electric motor sensors, temperature data, high-voltage isolation and communication between multiple control modules.

Safety And Correct Procedures

The transmission contains high-voltage components and stored hydraulic pressure. Appropriate isolation, depressurisation, scan-tool procedures and trained personnel are required before removal or mechatronic work.

Information That Helps Diagnosis

  • Exact warning messages
  • State of charge and whether the engine starts
  • Whether EV and petrol drive modes are affected differently
  • Fault codes from transmission and hybrid modules
  • Recent battery, charging or transmission work
