3. Prepare The Gearbox
Oil condition, connectors, seals, mounting surfaces and contamination are inspected. Some systems require fluid draining and exact cleanliness controls.
4. Install And Configure
The unit is installed using the specified procedure, then coded or programmed. Some vehicles require component protection, immobiliser or online functions.
5. Basic Settings And Adaptation
Clutch positions, selector references and hydraulic routines are learned. The process can fail if the gearbox has another unresolved fault.
6. Verify The Repair
Post-repair scanning, fluid-level checks, controlled road testing and rechecking for leaks or returning faults complete the process.
DSG faults should be diagnosed from the complete evidence: gearbox identity, fault history, electrical supply, hydraulic and clutch data, mechanical condition and the circumstances in which the problem occurs.
